SIO Leaders Meet Union Minister of State for HRD, E. Ahmed

New Delhi: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)’s President, Mohd. Azharuddin and Secretary General, P. M. Salih met the Union Minister of State, Human Resource Development (HRD), E. Ahmed and discussed the education issues.
During the very brief meet, the Minister acknowledged and congratulated SIO for its contribution in the field of student activism and education issues. Issues related to the forthcoming 12th Five Year Plan, minority education and minority institutes as well as better education policy to reach out to the masses. SIO leaders shared their concern over the increasing disturbances at different levels of education sector. The minister assured to take up the issues related to HRD and education.



Workshop on National Educational Agenda

New Delhi(16-18 Sept): “The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) will increase efforts towards Policy intervention in National Education”, said P.M. Salih, Secretary General of SIO at the concluding ceremony of the 3 day National Workshop on ‘National Education Agenda’ organized by SIO at Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi.

Mr. Salih further said, “There is a great need for research and proposals keeping in mind the needs of the Indian society. It is of utmost importance to discuss the issues of the larger population and bring forth stronger recommendations for better Education Policy”. “Alongwith theoretical debates and discussions it’s also important to struggle these policies as most of them do not reach their due implementation”, he added.

SIO GS addresses the South Asia Regional Leaders of IIFSO

New Delhi: “Students’ organisations have a big responsibility to fulfill and contribute to the Islamic movements in respective countries to lead Islam, Islamic community, and the existing society”, opined P.M. Salih, Secretary General while addressing the leaders of the South Region of International Islamic Federation of Student Organisations (IIFSO) in Colombo, Srilanka recently.He further said, “We can see the contributions from all Islamic students’ movements across the globe. We can also notice that Islamic students’ movements have contributed in the development of western and European Islamic movements. Students’ organisations participated in students’ union elections and won many votes, seats and unions in University and Colleges ahead of the times than their parent organizations’ participation mainstream politics. No sincere person can deny that student organisations are immensely contributing with resources, especially human resource, to Islamic movement in global scenario.”

SIO REGIONAL CONFERENCE - MADURAI.


Madurai, The city known for its world wonder, the city known for its architectural works, the city commonly known as the ‘Temple City’ of Tamil Nadu, Madurai, witnessed a great rally cum public gathering by the students addressing the entire society and especially the students community for bringing a reformation in the current educational system.

The day began with a Hall meeting exclusively arranged for the cadres of southern districts of Tamil nadu. The theme of the Cadres meet is “Be the helpers of Allah”. Sio Cadres from Trichy, Tangore, nagoor, kumbagonam, nagapattinam, needamangalam, mannargudi, and from many parts of the southern tamil nadu participated in large number. The event bagan with the Quran recitation by Jb.Jaffar Hussain Manbayee followed by welcome address by Br. Khaja Mohideen of Trichy. The arena was very well decorated by the Chief guests Br.Bishrudeen Sharki, former all India Sio president, Jb. Haneefa Manbayee, Secretary JIH Tamil Nadu, Jb.Ismail Imdadhi, Teacher, Islamiya School, Coimbatore and Leaders of Sio Tamil nadu zone.
